iPhone really to cost $3500 over 2 years!?!?

APPLE'S hotly anticipated iPhone could cost as much as $US3000 ($3548) with a required two-year service contract, but a handful of eager fans have still lined up early to spend their money.

Buyers of the iPhone must commit to a two-year contract with AT&T. The device combines a wireless phone, music, video and web browsing, and will be sold exclusively through AT&T for at least two years.

Apple and AT&T on Tuesday outlined three iPhone rate plans that will be available, from $US60 per month for the most basic to just under $US100 per month for more talk time. AT&T said iPhone customers could also choose other AT&T service plans listed on its website.

Microsoft says iPhone is irrelevant

Apple's soon-to-be-launched iPhone will be irrelevant to business users because it is a "closed device" and does not support Microsoft Office, a senior executive with the software giant said this week.

"It's a great music phone, and I'm sure it will be fantastic and have an interesting user interface," Microsoft's Asia-Pacific head of smartphone strategy Chris Sorenson told press during a recent visit to Australia.

Apple has launched a range of videos displaying all of the cool features of the new Apple iPhone. The iPhone Guided Tour runs for 24 minutes and is a comprehensive look at all of the fatastic features the the iPhone carries. The new iPhone Video is really more of of full featured tutorial rather than a demo and give a great insight into why the iphone is going to take the world by storm!

Is the iPhone going to be carried on all Australian Networks?

The New Apple iPhone may not be available on all Australian telephone networks. The Chief of operations, Greg Winn said that Apple is not a mobile phone company and that apple hould have "stuck to its knitting". According to the Sydney Morning Herald, he said that Nokia, Motorola, Samsung, Sony Ericsson and ZTE and others will be coming out with devices that have similar functionality to the iPhone. Winn said that although the iPhone had a touchscreen, he did not believe it made the device revolutionary.
