My second 3G iPhone has gone back. The first one wouldn't turn off (it kept re-booting), and then the microphone stopped working. The replacement has really poor 3G signal quality, although it was fine on 2G! Optus pretended they had never heard of the 3G receptivity problem, but eventually I got them to take it back and they are cancelling my contract. I tried to use MobileMe and that is a real mess - having prevously had a BlackBerry, the whole Apple iPhone offering seems very amateurish in comparison. My advice to any prospective iPhone user - don't do it. My advice to Apple - stick to what you know - music (I love the iPod). My advice to Apple shareholders - SELL!
